When I've gone, we camped at Mather at the top and left a car (actually truck) somewhere when we went down. You could bring extra blankets or an extra bag...

I've been comfortable with a 45 degree bag in the inner canyon during early May. Often it's been too hot at night to sleep in the bag. It's a different story...
