Saw one a few years ago, not long after leaving the Tanner TH in the dark. It was standing along the side of the road and appeared unafraid and unflinching...

Wow, you're a lucky man. I've never seen a mountain lion in all my years of hiking in lion country. I grew up hiking in the chaparral covered mountains...

About 1975 I had hiked (slid?) down Eminence Breaks. A bit upriver from where the trail comes...
