Smithsonian "Below the Rim"
Last year's Nat Geo feature on Grand Canyon was a disappointment to

If the narrows is a problem for someone, with some effort one can go
up and over the saddle on the upstream side. It is very possible to
work your way...

requests get rejected, but I've never been denied a permit when I've
faxed it in on...
