Smithsonian "Below the Rim"
Last year's Nat Geo feature on Grand Canyon was a disappointment to
serious enthusiasts like us. Some nice pictures, nothing new, vague
large-scale maps...

If the narrows is a problem for someone, with some effort one can go
up and over the saddle on the upstream side. It is very possible to
work your way...
