To prevent chaffing and to ease it, I use a product called Body Glide. It really works well.

I'd add some sort of soothing skin creme -- even if there
are no bugs biting, there's usually something like chafing
or sunburn or just incredibly dry skin...

Bob - I have taken the Trans-Canyon shuttle twice from the South Rim
to the North Rim, but it did not stop at Desert View. You might
call them and see if...
