I've done this route with a pack, and if you're used to Grand Canyon
off-trail hiking you should be fine. Now for the specifics:

Jane - It is 4.4 miles from the South Kaibab trailhead to the Tipoff
Point and another 4.5 miles from there to Indian Garden for a total
of 8.9...
