Well they're right, in the sense that it's an EASY 2-1/2 mile walk from Horn to
IG, a pretty inconsequential effort compared to the hike from IG...

We got our permit for our first trip off the corridor trails. Not
exactly what we hoped for, but going down Hermit Trail we got two
nights at Monument, one...
