I am thinking about hiking along the river from Lava Falls to Tuckup
before the weather gets real hot. I know it is difficult but possible
to climb through...

Depends on the season, of course, but the section from around Kanab
Creek all the way down to a couple miles above Lava Falls can be
pretty damn chilly once...
