I usually sleep under the stars in a bivy (less than 1 lb). For the
times I do pack a tent, I have a Black Diamond "first light" which is a

I have a Tarptent Cloudburst (1st generation) and really like it.
It looks like they have made some improvements and now call it
Cloudburst II. I don't think...

I've got a Squall 2. Love it. Has held up well against strong wind, plenty
of rain, even a little snow. Can be chilly in shoulder seasons or above

I agree. Bought one (a Rainbow) last year and used it in the Canyon in October. A howling storm all night at Yuma Point on the Boucher sold me on the Tarptent...
