I actually talked to the Rangers at the BCO last week about
transportation to the South Bass trailhead due to Amy's situation.
They said they were not...

I think that Sowats or Indian Hollow would be the best choice for a
bad weather trailhead, using the "winter road" from Fredonia. I have
