Cool, thats what I figured for this time of year. I ran across some
hikers that had came from there when I was at Hermit one August and
they said it was dry....

Maybe I perspire more than some, but my mouth was dry the entire time
and I kept sipping from my Camelback the entire way down.

My pack probably weighed 50-55lb, heading down Tanner Trail at
beginning of Escalante Route. But that included 5 days' food,
water for a dry camp (7 liters...

Nice report.
Seemed like a ton of weight to haul w/lots of water. Many do SK-river
in 2-3 hrs and use very little water. Suspect your illness might of...
