Why don't you call the backcountry folks and ask them ?
They always seem pretty friendly and open, and it's
certainly got my curiosity up.

I figure the Tanner-Grandview hike to be around 31 miles. Our
itinerary is 4 nights/5 days as follows:

Number of hikers or whether the trip is a normal route is unrelated. I
suspect the plan exceeds the daily mileage limit at least one day....
