Hi GT -- Good plan, good background... Tanner Rapid to 75-Mile is
long, but 75 to Red Canyon is not and Hance Rapid to Hance Ck is
short. You could add...

I did speak to a ranger at the BIC before booking this itinerary and
the fact that it was in June caused him to mention the heat factor.

Why don't you call the backcountry folks and ask them ?
They always seem pretty friendly and open, and it's
certainly got my curiosity up.

I figure the Tanner-Grandview hike to be around 31 miles. Our
itinerary is 4 nights/5 days as follows:
Tanner TH to Tanner Rapids Use area BB9

intinerary (submitted and approved in June 2007) for my
October-November East Tonto hike included...
