Yeah, I used one for probably close to 30 years. They were bombproof. Extremely reliable. I still have mine but never use it anymore. Their only downside...

The Optimus (aka The Bomb) is really spectacular when he douses it with
fuel and lights it to warm it up. It works great.

I still carry an Optimus or a Primus stove, depending on circumstances.
Both are white gas fueled, but one small MSR bottle will last for 5 days
for a party...
