We just got back from our annual spring trip and brought crocs for the first
time; actually our son turned us on to them last year when that was what he
used....

It sounds like everyone has their facts straight....I found this on
the NPS site, about safe drinking water at the Grand Canyon. It says

Bob, do you ever get your feet wet? That is the one main advantage to
bringing an extra pair of shoes for me. I invariably get my feet wet
and need a dry...
