That doesn't sound right to me. It's hard to believe they could have
started down the S Bass trail, made it down to Royal Arch, then to
the River, then...

More to the point, you might get a permit for a hike and simply not do it
at all. I've done this twice, for the Escalante Route - once we abandoned...
