We originally were going to bring just tarps to sleep under if necessary and simply use our light weight bags to sleep on - but... then the idea of critters...

Assuming your permit is for a group of 6 people, you are required to camp in the designated small group (6 or fewer) sites. The number of sites for 7-11...

That's correct, group sites are for 7-12 people. You'll be able to find a site that fits all of your tents, you'll be very close to each other, probably...
