I did your loop in March. There was ice for the first mile. The trail
is steep but I did not get the feeling I was exposed to a serious drop.

I figure it to be 3 miles from Tanner to Palisades, and 6 miles from
Palisades to the LC. I would not (actually, I could not) do it from Tanner
