I recall meeting a family group doing a rim to rim. There was (mid 20's)
mom & dad, (also quite young) aunt, grandfather & grandmother... and 5
year old son....

Yes, and it was a great story with corroborating pictures. the kid was 5 and they did a New Hance-Grandview loop. If you search the list archives, I'll bet...

The issue that scares me the most are the narrow trails and extreme drop-offs. Kids tend to horse around. I know I would'nt trust my 8 yo grandson to keep...
