Mike, online would be great but there is no reason to eliminate walkups. By talking to the rangers at the BIC you can always get some kind of worthwhile...

Chris- I think you are allowed to get up to 3 permits per waitlist number. They need not all be in your name. I have gotten my permit and one for a friend...
