No one in my party on Friday saw any NPS staff in uniform on SK from
730am-4pm. Given the hotels and SK were nearly empty maybe Bil and

SPOT on SK
SPOT worked perfectly on my SK dayhike today from rim-river. Google
maps had data for every 10 minutes of my hike.
SPOT though is known not to work well...

Sat Phone
Rich, I've also heard that overall Iridium is now much better than
Globalstar. A sat phone is a small price to pay/rent in case of an
emergency or to keep...

Glad you're ok.
You might look into a sat phone rental and/or a plb like a SPOT. With
SPOT you have the ability to purchase SAR insurance.

SK Trail Conditions?
I'm planning for a dayhike this weekend and wondered if the recent
moisture/snow did much to upper SK? Any ice?
