I sanaped a carbon fiber pole on the first day of a hike starting
down an alternate route into Nankoweap. Went back to a standard
light weight hiking pole...

John, I must admit that I've snapped carbon fiber poles twice in
Grand Canyon. Once after a few years of very hard use when I jammed
the pole hard and bent...

Dick,
Our Fossil loop trip in April was ten days and I was able to get
everything inside a Jam 2 pack except I had to carry one bladder
outside the pack...
