Turbidity is suspended solids in the water making it look cloudy. You sometimes get the same thing at home if they are flushing hydrants or there is a fire...

As I recall, Aqua Mira may not be effective in dealing with Giardia--
some sellers recomend use of the Aquamira bottle and filter kit to
deal with it....
