I agree. I did a R2R with two great marathoners and they laughed at the proposed mileage as the daily plan was less than they would do on a short training...

Welcome, Tom. Averaging 10 miles a day is way too far in the Grand Canyon. It's much more difficult hiking than the AT or Catskills. I've seen (on TV)...
