You will need a permit for the narrows - Actually, Zion uses a complicted system using a permit RESERVATION - You then P/U the actual permit in person the day...

I believe there is a spot just as the trail leaves the dunes area where a section of cribbing goes above the river. This spot may not be right by the trail....
