..not between the arms of Horseshoe. As the Tonto trail is about to turn south toward Cottonwood (coming from the west)or just after the trail turns east...

Hi Roger...The only advantage for Hermit Trail is during winter conditions - because the trail has a more western exposure snow and ice melt off much faster...
