There are a lot of deer in GC. North rim, South rim, corridor and remote places. Once on the Tonto between Cremation and Lonetree we saw a herd of 20 mule...

You're right Chris... I completely forgot about the 3 deer I saw near Indian Garden on one hike in the canyon. Probably those 2 herds are used to hikers so...

Besides the herd at Phantom, deer are also prevalent at Indian Garden. And, last week at dusk I nearly bumped into one...

Woodrat (?) chewed a hole in my tent at one of the established sites at Clear Creek. No food in it, but it was a communal tent and it could well have smelled...
