I liked my campsite in the west arm of Grapevine.
It was near the overhang site mentioned, but was in November, so I didn't
need the overhang for shade.

Hey Jeremy, I agree Grapevine is probably the best side canyon to explore in the area. It's big and fun but difficult to make it all the way to the river....

I prefer counter-clockwise, because I believe the last water (Thunder
River) is a lot closer to the rim. You fill up at TR and it's only about
a 30min walk...
