Definitely not ok to check any kind of fuel. Although I have been
openly scornful here about the rules on liquids in carry-on (and
the TSA "safety theatre"...

Bill, I usually have my entire pack packed with everything I need, food, snacks, clothes, tent etc. except fuel. Put it in a big duffle and check it. Never...
