It is legal to carry a firearm in the National Parks. The federal gov't changed the law allowing it about 1 1/2 years ago.

No guns!! -- except sworn officers. Most rangers are not peace officers, so I'm sure enough that anyone out of uniform carrying a firearm below the rim is...

Didn't they recently start allowing hikers to carry sidearms into the canyon? I expect some people may be willing to carry the extra weight, but...

water. The settled water can be drunk without treatment if you dare (we
did) or...

We encountered a Ranger with the whole service belt including pistol on the Tonto near Hermit. It looked heavy
