I just saw a picture of inscriptions in the cave. Is the cave difficult to get to from the rim in that area? One of the inscriptions was of a "Mangum."...

Typically the night temps in July and August are so hot that a pad is useful to insulate you from the hot ground. Sleeping on the tables is also good...
