My wife and I hiked the Tanner in mid-September in 1997. The temp was around 105 degrees for a good part of the trip. When we climbed out, we started at 3AM...

The route(s) from Tapeats to Deer Creek do not go through the 'slot', the narrow
part of Deer Creek is the last quarter mile or so above the...
