Is it worth bring bikes to the north rim? we are camping and wanted to just use them to go to the lodge and maybe trail heads.

You can drive all the way. But you should also be aware that down trees frequently block the roads that lead out that way, so they aren't always passable. ...

The Outback is a great car but it doesn't have any ground clearance or wheel-well clearance. Not good in deep mud or really rough roads.
