Here is my 2 cents worth.
I have two Tarptents, a Cloudburst (no longer made) and a Rainbow. I never really had any problems with either one....

I have a Contrail. It's a good solo-plus tent; I use it when hiking with my (very big) dog. Mine weighs 26oz, seam-sealed. It took a bit of practice for me...

Take a look at zpacks.com. I use their Hexamid twin tent plenty of room for 2 people and very lightweight.
