I would recommend carrying crampons,even if there's no snow going in, there
may be going out. My instep crampons have two tough leather straps with
buckles...

Last night the South Rim got another 2-4 inches new snow. All the
South Rim trails are snow cover, icy on the upper portions. I

I have an Extream bottle filter, but cannot recommend it. It is
too slow and too much work. I often use my own gravity system
made from a First Need filter...

Any thoughts/experience re: the in-the-bottle filters like the Seychelles
Bottoms Up, or in line gravity filters? Would these tend to clog quicker?
