I prefer the Exum Guide also which is more like a boot but lighter and more flexible than a boot. Still more flexible than I prefer for expedition pack...

Everybody here seems to be lovin' on the Camp Fours, which is a low top trail shoe. If you prefer something with more structure, as I do, take a look...

A couple friends have the La Sportiva Xplorer, and I envy the construction. The
uppers seem much better put together than my Five-Tens, and the rubber...

I heard a rumor the Savants were being discontinued.... Not sure what model replaces them.
