Andy, have you tried pounding in those stakes in the compacted corridor soil? I'd be surprised if you had no problem there.

I like all the comments about rocks, sticks, and bushes. I've used them all. But back to the original point, I've used lightweight stakes and drove them...

If you are hiking with others, you could also just add some heavy rocks to
their packs.

North Rim questions

I agree Doug.....my bottles on my Golite Jam 50 go into the main compartment, because of how they stick out and catch on rock.
