You have hike to the bottom from the south side before, so use those times to figure out how long it will take you hiking out the north side. Its 14 miles...

I agree with Josh - I tend to drink more from the bladder than I did when just using bottles. I also like that the water is cooler from the bladder buried...

Interesting suggestion. Although, as I recall it is fairly windy on the Tonto and a gust at the wrong time could be fatal.

A big advantage of one gallon ziplocks in the spring- you can put snow in them & carry them near your back/neck & they melt as you hike along. I have done...
