I'm going to have to give the Camp Fours a shot. I have a pair of the five ten tennies and think they're really comfortable, but can't hike in them....

I have seen a barefoot hiker with a good size pack on the BA trail. Later I
wondered if it was Cody Lundin, but I wouldn't have known how he looked at

IMHO, footwear is an absolute requirement for GC hiking, or any desert hiking.
I don't like heavy, bulky boots. I suppose you can get by with light boots or...

John, I heard exactly the same thing. No shoe is going to fully protect the owner from stretched tendons and ligaments.
