I will swear that over-ankle boots make a differnce. There are plenty of light weight boots that offer more protection than those that stop below the ankle. ...

Josh, I'm going to have to give the Camp Fours a shot. I have a pair of the five ten tennies and think they're really comfortable, but can't hike in them....

I have seen a barefoot hiker with a good size pack on the BA trail. Later I wondered if it was Cody Lundin, but I wouldn't have known how he looked at that...

IMHO, footwear is an absolute requirement for GC hiking, or any desert hiking. I don't like heavy, bulky boots. I suppose you can get by with light boots or...
