Pinny -I think by parking your car just off the highway a few feet it is at great risk for being towed. However, I don't have a definitive answer on that...

There is a parking area 1/2 mile west if the trailhead, on the south side of the road. It is actually a side road that is blocked off after a hundred yards...

Andy -I should have added that if you have others in your group, drop them and your packs at the trailhead at the highway, then drive to the Forest Service...

And Andy, when you park on the forest road just put a piece of paper on the dash with your permit number, that way NPS won't think it's an abandoned...
