Since the only mining areas closed are those at Asbestos Canyon and
Hakatai Canyon, I believe the reason is the presumed hazard of

There's a microbrewery on the south side of the tracks, down kinda near
NAU, I forgot the name. I love fresh beer. Oh, yeah, they also have great
sandwiches....
