I'll speak up about the cutoff route. It is pretty easy, generally after everything else you have done. It is a bit steep in places, but is a great option...

I forgot to add that the beef jerky comes in a variety of flavors, and mixing them up (as well as mixing up energy bars) helps a great deal.-Jeff
