Daniel, I agree. The canyon is harder than it looks. People do die there. There are hundreds of miles of trails you can do without putting your life in danger...

If you need to ask what the webbing is for, you need to take a basic rock climbing/mountaineering class before you attempt hikes of this difficulty. Adair
