Talk about touching a nerve. One night for one person at Bass could cost $69. $20 permit fee, $20 entrance fee, $25 Supai road tax, $4 overnight use...

The permit fee certainly isn't trivial, but, for all but the lucky few that live close to the Canyon, the fee is only a tiny part of the cost of a trip there....
