I think Rich's comment about the slippery schist is quite real. Altho I haven't heard any stories of serious injury that doesn't mean there haven't been any....

Pete, years ago when Dale and I first hiked down CC to the river we brought a rope, harness, ascenders, and some anchoring gear "determined" to make the river...
