Back in 1988, did a two day quick trip from SK to PhR. While at Phantom, we got chased around by 3 wild turkeys. Had to jump on some rocks to shoo them away....

Permit system and AZT thru hikers
Does the NPS have exceptions for permits to camp in the canyon for Arizona Trail thru hikers?
Its very difficult to estimate GC arrival 4 months in advance.
