travelling from phx it is about a 3.5 hr drive to the s.rim depending on how fast you drive. i have never made the drive from las vegas, as i understand it...

i don't know what time of the year you were there, but when i took the e. tonto trail in early june it was exposed the whole way with only one little trickle...
